Method 1 of 3: Manually Updating Firefox
2.Hover your mouse over the Help menu. Select About Firefox.
3.Wait for updates to install. If there are updates available for Firefox, they will be automatically downloaded and installed. The About Firefox screen will show the progress.
- Click the Restart to Update button to restart Firefox and apply the new updates.
Method 2 of 3: Configuring Automatic Updates
- 1.Open your Mozilla Firefox browser. Click the Firefox button in the top-left corner.
- 2.Hover your mouse over the Options menu. Select Options.

3.Click the Update tab. This will open the configuration options for automatic updates. By default, “Automatically install updates” should be selected.
- You can choose to have Firefox download the update but prompt you to install it, or never download updates automatically.
- You can see all of the updates you have installed by clicking “Show Update History”
- It is recommended that you allow updates to install automatically to make sure that your browser is as secure as possible.[1]
Method 3 of 3: Reinstalling Firefox

2.Run the installer. The install program will automatically overwrite the old Firefox installation, and your new copy should work without issue.[2]
- The installer will always install the latest version of Firefox available.
